The time has come for the return of the Pan2Plate Chef Challenge! Once again, Executive Chef Orlando and Sous Chef Sarah will go head to head in the kitchen to create a three course meal each, incorporating a secret ingredient into each dish. As you may recall, Chef Orlando is the reigning champ from our inaugural challenge in 2014 where chocolate was the featured ingredient. Chef Sarah was a close second and we’ve heard through the grapevine that she has some tricks up her sleeve this year!
The first step of this exciting wine pairing dinner is to select the featured ingredient and this year, the contenders are coconut, curry, and potato chips. While these ingredients may raise some eyebrows, you’d be amazed at what chefs can do to incorporate unique flavors ever-so-subtly alongside other items in the dish. The challenge for our chefs is to highlight the ingredient beautifully in each dish and earn your top votes for taste, presentation, creativity, and the perfect wine pairing. It makes for a unique evening, full of lively conversation and delicious food, plus it helps not only our chefs, but also our guests to think outside the box when it comes to cooking and dining.
